The Lynchburg Baptist Association organized on November 1, 1964 when eighteen churches and one mission, represented by 164 messengers, met at College Hill Baptist Church.

Currently, the Lynchburg Baptist Association consists of twenty-one Southern Baptist Churches located in the city of Lynchburg, and in the counties of Campbell, Bedford, and Amherst.

The associational staff presently consists of Rev. Mitch Luckie, Associational Ministries Coordinator, Mrs. Elizabeth Harris, Administrative Assistant, and Rev. Philip Watkins, Collegiate Minister to Lynchburg College.
