English As A Second Language (ESL)

English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are held for internationals seeking to learn English, mid-September through mid-May at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church, located at 5225 Fort Avenue (on the bus line, across the street of Chestnut Hill Bakery)

Classes are held on Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m for the rest of the Spring Semester 2017. Starting in the Fall Semester 2017, Classes will be moved from Thursday mornings to Tuesday mornings, 9:30-11:00 a.m.  Follow Lynchburg City Schools’ schedule for holidays and snow days.  Fees are $10 for registration, plus $30 for the cost of books ($40 total). Childcare is provided for preschool children.

An assessment is given on the first day of each semester.  Four levels of classes are offered, from beginning to advanced.  Students can join the program at any time.  Please register online for Fall 2017 by August 14th.  Placement day for new students is September 12th and our first day of class is September 19th.
